Renovation of a fire / police facility in Miami Shores, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

** As of December 8,2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Miami Shores Village is inviting the submission of bids from qualified firms to provide and install impact windows and doors in accordance with ITB 2022- 10-01 Miami Shores Village Police Department Impact Windows and Doors. Any submittals received after the due date and time specified, will not be considered. No phone calls will be accepted in reference to this ITB. If it becomes necessary to provide additional clarifying data or information that revises any part of this ITB, supplements or revisions will be made available via written addendum and may be found via Miami Shores Village website The cone of silence for this project is now in effect. Any communication regarding this solicitation between a potential offeror, vendor, service provider, bidder, lobbyist, or consultant and any Council member, Village department heads and their staff, is prohibited. Questions regarding this solicitation shall be submitted in writing to bids@msvfl.gov no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022. DEMOLITION WORK: The true intent to the demolition specifications is to provide for complete demolition in every detail of the work described herein, and it is understood that the Contractor will furnish labor and equipment to complete the demolition process. 3.6.1.1 Contractor to remove existing windows and exterior doors assemblies along with accordion shutters and dispose of at the Village's discretion. 3.6.1.2 All existing hurricane shutters and aluminum window frame will remain with Miami Shares Village. All glass must be removed by contractor. 3.6.1.2 Contractor shall be responsible to remove all debris from the site daily. 3.6.1.3 Contractor must not allow materials and debris generated daily to be disposed of in an illegal manner. 3.6.1.4 Demolish as required to accomplish work. All required demolition shall be included in the base bid package submitted by the contractor. 3.6.1.5 The contractor must be careful to maintain security alarms, and other existing conditions for all parts of items to remain. 3.6.1.5 Contractor shall take proper care to protect and close off work area as required for normal facility operation. Building will be occupied during the demolition. 3.6.1.6 All windows and or doors removed, shall have the new assemblies installed before end of work day to ensure that building can be locked up. 3.6.2 NEW WORK - IMPACT WINDOWS AND DOORS 3.6.2.1 Install new impact window and door assemblies into the opening, per manufacturer's instructions, assuring the window is level and plumb, as required. Use shims if needed. 3.6.2.2 Replace existing bucks with pressure treated full load buck, if required. 3.6.2.3 Contractor shall use an approved windows and doors, LEVEL E rated as required per the Florida Building Code for the occupancy class. 3.6.2.4 All materials must meet those requirements and specifications of the Florida Building Codes. 3.6.2.5 All impact resistant glass shall be a minimum Low-E 366 with factory applied tint. 3.6.2.6 Fasten with approved fasteners per Product Approval. 3.6.2.7 Apply Exterior Sealant to the new frame and stucco to waterproof the opening. 3.6.2.8 Apply Interior Sealant to the new frame and drywall. 3.6.2.9 Frame color to match existing. 3.6.2.10 Replace pedestrian doors as necessary per each location. All doors are to include Von Duprin closers, or approved equal and concealed vertical devices per code. 3.6.2.11 Any repairsrequired around the windows or doors due to replacement of such, shall be done by the contractor to include but not limited to, drywall, stucco, patch, paint to match, polyurethane sealant, etc. 3.6.3 STOREFRONT DOORS 1. The storefront doors will have aluminum frames and 9/16" Thick Grey Lite Impact Glass. 2. ADA Bumper Thresholds 3. 10" Bottom Rails 4. Standard Push / Pull Hardware with locks 5. Heavy Duty Overhead Exposed Door Closers to all exterior doors. 3.6.4 KEY CYLINDERS: 3.6.4.1 Contractor shall provide key cylinders a minimum of two weeks in advance for Village to rekey prior to Contractor's installation. 3.6.4.2 Contractor shall use key way cylinder Best Lock System, or approved equal for all doors.
