Renovation of a municipal facility in Lynchburg, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The facility was renovated 2002. An addition was added to the NE corner of the building as part of this addition also. The older section of the building has a roof composition consisting of the following: wood deck, smooth surface built-up roofing, 3" of polyiso and mechanically attached EPDM membrane. The 2002 addition portion of the building has a roof composition consisting of the following: metal deck, 1/4 " per foot tapered polyiso (3" min) and mechanically attached EPDM membrane. The intent is to remove the existing EPDM membrane, replace any damaged or wet polyiso insulation, address the backing out of the existing fasteners and then mechanically attached a layer of 1/2" high density polyiso board to the existing roof composition and finally adhere a new EPDM membrane. The approximate size of the roof area is 11,000 square feet. The lower entry roof and upper penthouse/doghouse roofs are not part of this project.
