Renovation of a water / sewer project in Encinitas, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The San Elijo Joint Powers Authority (SEJPA) is soliciting bid submissions from qualified contractors for the San Elijo Water Campus (SEWC) Biosolids Dewatering Facilities Improvements project. The successful contractor will be selected through a competitive bid process. All Work must be completed within seven hundred (700) calendar days The site of the Work is located at the San Elijo Water Campus (SEWC), 2695 Manchester Avenue, Cardiff by the Sea, CA, 92007 The scope of Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: o Demolish existing belt filter presses (BFPs) and replace with new centrifuge units with operating platforms and monorail systems and installation of associated piping and appurtenances. o Demolish existing BFP supports, washwater curbs, mezzanine level, and stairs. o Demolish the existing access ladder from the mezzanine level to the upper roof and replace with a new exterior ladder from the grade level to the lower roof. o Remove the existing double door to the dewatering building and infill the wall opening. Install two new double doors at the South Wall. Remove and replace all existing doors to the Dewatering Building. o Remove and replace the existing skylights with new removeable type. o Clean, prep, resurface and recoat steel framing and other metal components, including interior and exterior surfaces of the building (including the outdoor hopper area). o Make improvements to the ventilation and odor control systems, including removal of the existing exhaust fans, addition of an air supply fan for the Dewatering Room, replacement of the existing air conditioning unit in the Electrical Room with a new unit, and routing all foul air lines from the centrifuge units to the existing Odor Reduction Facility (ORF) No. 2. o Replace the existing screened louvers with new windows except for the opening to be utilized for ducting of the new air handling unit. o Demolish the existing polymer storage area and replace with a new outdoor polymer storage area with configuration suitable for forklift access and integration of the feed pump area within the containment. Install a metal shade canopy for sunshade. o Replace the existing feeder blenders for both thickening and dewatering processes with a PLC based system. o Replace the existing MCC-H (in place) with a new single bus MCC. o Replace the existing Switchgear (SWGR) MS-2 with a new switchboard to be installed in the existing storage room in the Chlorination Building, including coordination with San Diego Gas & Electric o Design improvements for instrumentation and control associated with the upgrades described in this bid package, including addition of an Allen-Bradley Compact Logix PLC to expand the Bio-Solids control capabilities. o Perform miscellaneous site improvements including removal and replacement of yard piping, installation of new sanitary sewer manhole, new retaining wall, site grading and removal and replacement of new asphalt. o All appurtenant work as indicated on the Drawings and as specified. o Perform field measurements, including survey of existing and finished installations. o Prepare detailed shop drawings and installation drawings by the Contractor's selected suppliers. o Provide temporary facilities as specified and as required to maintain uninterrupted operations of the existing facilities.
