The City of Hamilton is seeking applications from general contracting firms interested in being prequalified to submit bids through a subsequent Request for Tenders (RFT) process for the construction of a concrete rehabilitation of primary clarifiers (galleries 1-8), replacement of process equipment (including chain & flight sludge removal mechanism and scum removal system) inside the primary clarifiers 1-8 and those process equipment identified in the galleries (1-8), rebuilding of four (4) access buildings, scum building upgrades, two (2) new Motor Control Centre (MCC) buildings for Primary Clarifiers (Galleries 1-8), and one (1) new MCC building for scum building. The proposed scope includes architectural, structural, building mechanical/Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), process mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control, SCADA integration services associated with the upgrades. Tentative Schedule: Construction is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025 and be completed in two (2) years from Project award to Substantial Performance. Notification of General Contractor (GC) RFPQ Results: Mar/Apr 2025 GC Request for Tenders (RFT) issued by City: May/June 2025 GC Contract Award and Construction Start: Aug/Sept 2025 Estimated Substantial Performance of GC Contract: Sept 2027 The value of this project is estimated to be between $24M and $27M.
