Site work and new construction of an educational facility in West Haven, Utah. Completed plans call for the construction of a 105,367-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The project's general scope of work consists of the new construction of a 105,367-square-foot Elementary School. The new floor construction is concrete slab on grade with concrete stem wall and footings. The exterior walls include CMU with required reinforced metal stud framing and insulation where indicated. An extensive fabricated structural steel framing package is also included throughout the building. Exterior door openings are aluminum storefronts, hollow metal doors and frames, and overhead doors. Exterior window openings are aluminum storefronts. Interior openings are hollow metal doors and frames and flush wood doors. Interior walls include CMU and insulated metal stud framing with textured and painted drywall, restroom walls include porcelain tile. Finish flooring includes exposed, sealed, concrete with a light grind; LVT; Carpet Tile. Roofing is steel trusses and metal decks with PVC Membrane Roofing over polyiso insulation. ALTERNATES and UNIT PRICING REQUIRED: See Requirements in Bid Documents files. General site work improvements consist of preparing the site for the excavation of new footings, concrete paving and curb and gutter including base, asphalt base and paving including striping and exterior signage, new utilities including sanitary sewer, culinary water, natural gas, storm-water, and electricity. New site elements include Site Furnishing, Playground Equipment, and irrigation and landscaping. Subcontractors will carefully and thoroughly review the bid documents; satisfying themselves as to the nature and location of the work and the character, quality, quantities of materials and difficulties that may be encountered, the kind and extent of equipment and other facilities needed for the performance of the work and any other items which may affect the work or its performance prior to submitting their proposal. 15063, 18588 *RFI Response to Equipment, Duct, and Piping EQUIPMENT Specs mention that all Chilled and HHW equipment to have removable insulation covers, but also says with the exception of the expansion tanks. Does this mean that the expansion tanks don’t get insulation or that they just aren’t to be insulated with removable insulation? Answer: Expansion tank still gets insulated it just doesn’t need to be removable. 2” thick as per spec. 2. Additionally are the Air Separators, Chiller, or the DHW Storage Tanks to receive insulation? If so what type and thickness? Answer: Air separators and DHW storage will get insulation, doesn’t need to be removable. 2” for thickness as per spec. DUCT Specs call for round supply duct to be externally wrapped. Does this include the round supply that is exposed to view? Or is that going to be lined? Answer: Ducts that are exposed and are to be painted out are not required to be externally wrapped. 2. Are the Boiler Combustion /vents and In-take pre-insulated – or need field installed insulation and/or jacketing? Answer: No boiler flues are to be double wall insulated AL-29-4c. PIPING Specs do not mention if the Cooling Tower Drain line outside it to be insulated. Should it be, and will it also be heat traced. Answer: Cooling tower drain line is not required to be insulated. Nor be heat traced. Tower is drained and winterized. 2. Are any other cold /condensate lines to be insulated (other than the Cold Box drains specifically mentioned)? Answer: Yes, all condensate lines are to be insulated 3. Glycol lines coming of the Glycol Feed Tanks are not identified as GLY lines. Are these to be insulated? If so there is no mention of the insulation type or thickness. Is it to be assumed that the insulation requirements are the same as the HWH? Answer: Yes, glycol feed lines for both heating and chilled water system need to be insulated. There insulation requirements are to be the same as the associated system. 4. Any insulation requirements on the Soft Water system? Answer: Yes, soft water insulation requirements are the same as the domestic cold water insulation requirements. Typically the line-sets are pre-insulated and/or the mechanicals install their own insulation on them. For the refer line-sets going to the units on the roof do you want a price to install the metal jacketing? Answer: Yes, provide a breakout price for this scope of work. *See attached file for addendum #1 and #2
