Renovation of a multi-residential development in Batavia, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
** As of January 27, 2023 project was awarded to Bison Elevator Service but awarded amount is not available.** Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Business entities awarded an identical or substantially similar procurement contract within the past five years: n/a In accordance with HUDs procurement standards, the Batavia Housing Authority (BHA) is issuing a Requests for Proposals (RFP) for upgrades to the elevator systems in the East tower at 400 Towers, 400 East Main Street, Batavia, NY. This contract will cover specific components of our traction elevator systems that will be replaced or upgraded. The elevator systems will not be re- engineered and the capacity, dimensions, size, loads and speed of the elevators will not be redesigned. The elevator contractor will be required to provide all design, installation and testing services needed to complete the project. The work must be conducted in accordance with all applicable regulations. This contract will cover specific components of our traction elevator systems that will be replaced or upgraded. The elevator systems will not be re-engineered and the capacity, dimensions, size, loads and speed of the elevators will not be redesigned. The elevator contractor will be required to provide all design, installation and testing services needed to complete the project. SCOPE OF SERVICES The services required are outlined in the attached NEIS report. Included are the following: - Remove existing controller, landing system first floor hall station, travel cables, door operator, complete car and hoistway wiring. - Install new MCE 4000, Smart Rise or ECI nonproprietary controllers. - Install new nonproprietary landing systems compatible with controllers. - Install new nonproprietary linear belt door operators with restrictors. - Add access operation to top and bottom floors. - Rebuild door locks, car and hoistway door hangar rollers and gate switches as needed for reliability. Items to be retained that are in good working order at this time are as follows: governors, unintended motion devices, car operating panel, hoist machine and hoist motors, hall stations, car top inspection stations, hoistway and car doors, hoist ropes existing overhead sheaves, cabs, platforms and pit equipment. The existing equipment is MCEVFMC-1000 controllers, AC VVVF hoist motors, Hollister Whitney basement machines installed under 2000 code, installed around 2007, 2500 pound, 125 foot per min traction cars. Along with the replacement of the specified equipment, the contractor will be required to provide a "workmanship warranty" for a two-year period once the work is complete. The contractor who installs this equipment will not need to respond to real-time service calls. The workmanship warranty will assure support to the owner if call-backs are required to correct installation errors and support warranty claims at no cost to the owner The selection of a firm to complete this project will be made based on qualification, experience with similar work and price.
