Audu-Bon Islands State Nature Preserve Restoration Design-Build ECT Proposals received after the specified due date and time will not be considered. In General, THE SCOPE OF SERVICES consists of design, oversight and imple- mentation of island restoration at multi- ple locations within an island complex owned by Metroparks. Three (3) copies of the Proposal must be sealed and marked as above. The Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo- Area will directly select a firm based on the Proposal. The selected Contractor will be required to complete the following tasks for the Project: 1. Provide plans and create/utilize concept designs for stabilizing eroding island banks, and increasing habitat heterogeneity along island shorelines and within Ewing Island's cove. If the proposed design creates a need for any specialized engineering or geotechnical services, the Contractor's proposal should address each service. a. For stabilizing eroding island banks whilst abstaining from breaking earth on Tribal lands, design documents shall include specific locations and specifications on shoreline restoration techniques to be implemented. b. For all native woody vegetation proposed for use in this restoration project, design documents shall include a detailed listing for all tree and shrub species by type (e.g., live stake, bare root, containerized), size, and quantity. 2. Coordinate plans for the Project with the Ohio EPA Division of Surface Water and Metroparks. 3. Conduct weekly communications on project progress via phone or email with designated Metroparks staff. 4. Complete a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan ("SWPPP") for the proposed design. Erosion and sediment must be controlled throughout the construction process in accordance with the Ohio EPA construction general permit. 5. Coconut coir erosion control matting (or similar product preapproved by Metroparks) must be utilized for all erosion control measures. Use of any nylon or polyester materials for erosion control is strictly prohibited 6. Project Construction: The selected contractor shall perform construction of this Project per the design as approved by Metroparks and per the terms and conditions of the Contract.
