News conferences are a primary means of communicating Government of Alberta policies and critical information to Albertans. A well-run news conference is a key component of a good communications strategy and keeping Albertans informed. Communications and Public Engagement (CPE), on behalf of Government of Alberta intends to contract highly skilled and experienced audio/visual service providers to provide full broadcast quality audio and video support for Government of Alberta news conferences in Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary and other locations across Alberta. This may include working in the McDougall Centre media room (Calgary) or the Government media theatre (Edmonton). It is the intention of CPE to award multiple Contracts for the Services in this RFP to several successful Proponents in various locations throughout the province. The successful Proponents of the RFP will be eligible for projects on an as-required basis and are not guaranteed any volume of work. When a project is needed, CPE intends to award to the Contractor that will meet the scope of work in terms of the Contractor's ability, and/or availability and/or total project cost. The Province reserves the right to solicit proposals for such work in the open market if the Contractors are not available. The Province requires the Services as set out in Appendix B to this RFP. The anticipated duration of Services is from March 1, 2023 to March 31, 2026. The Province, in its discretion, will confirm actual start and end dates for the Services upon finalizing the Contract. The Province may extend the Contract, under the same terms and conditions, for two additional terms of up to 12 months each to perform the Services.
