Renovation of a detention facility in Memphis, Tennessee. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Corrections seeks to repair the roofs for the housing units at 1045 Mullins Station. Facility maintenance and roof repair are necessary for our certification to function as a prison for both Tennessee Corrections Institute (TCI) and the United States Marshal Services (USMS). Financial Impact: The maintenance of acceptable housing is a core fundamental requirement to house inmates from the State of Tennessee or detainees from the United States Marshal Service. Roof leaks violate those standards. If we are to maintain the service we provide, we must make these repairs. This project is included in the county's FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Program. As of December 14, 2022, further details regarding design and construction timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
