Renovation of a multi-residential development in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
The scope of work includes all labor, material, and equipment necessary to replace the hollow metal exterior doors, hollow metal frames, aluminum security screen doors, and exterior porch lights located at the front & rear entrances of two hundred and twenty-one (221) residential units. The scope also includes to replace the hollow metal exterior doors, hollow metal frames, aluminum security screen doors, and exterior porch lights located at the front entrance in thirty-six (36) bungalow units. The work includes but is not limited to demolition, carpentry, painting, door and door hardware installation, and replacement of the existing light fixture. All questions must be received by 2 PM Friday, December 16, 2022. A certified check, bank draft or irrevocable letter of credit, payable to the order of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, negotiable U. S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages set forth in the contract documents must be paid on this project, and that the contractor must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, religion, color, sex, or nation origin, and comply with the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and of Executive Order 11246. The Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. If any bidder seeks to withdraw his bid due to a clerical error therein, as provided in Code of Virginia, Title 2.2, Chapter 43, Section 2.2-4330, such bidder must give notice in writing of his claim of right to withdraw his bid within two (2) business days after the bid opening. If a contract is for $120,000.00 or more, or if the total value of all construction, removal, repair or improvement undertaken by the bidder within any 12-month period is $750,000.00 or more, the bidder is required under Title 54.1-1100, Code of Virginia, 2050 (as amended) to show evidence of being licensed as a Class A Contractor. If a contract is $10,000.00 or more, but less than $120,000.00, the bidder is required to show evidence of being licensed as a Class B Contractor. PROJECT SITE: Oakleaf Forest 1701 Greenleaf Drive Norfolk VA, 23523 The work is to commence immediately upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed, and be completed within Two-Hundred and Forty (240) consecutive calendar days.
