Site work and new construction of an educational facility in San Luis Obispo, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 60,000-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; 25,000-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility; 25,000-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; and 17,000-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.

The Cal Poly Plant Sciences Complex will consist of the following: civil scope for an approximately 60,000GSF donor developed green house, civil scope for a fruit and vegetable processing facility, an approximately 25,000 GSF two story classroom and laboratory building, and site improvements. The Animal Health Center will consist of approximately 17,500 GSF of net program space to accommodate instructional, clinical, and support spaces. Within those spaces there will be exam rooms, clean rooms, and surgical suites. These will require technical knowledge for medical filtration and sterilization requirements. The Design-Builder, in conjunction with the University, is requesting Proposals from prospective Bidders interesting in Bidding the Core Trade Design Build Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical (including fire alarm, low voltage, and special systems) scopes of work for the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo - Plant Sciences Complex and Animal Health Science Project (PS&AH). The PS&AH is a public works project and has a direct construction value of $34,690,000. The delivery method for this project is Collaborative Design-Build. This is a two-phased project delivery process: Phase 1 - Design and Preconstruction Services, Phase 2 - Design-Build Construction Services. There will be a separate agreement for each phase. The project is to be designed and constructed to meet LEED Gold or equivalent energy and sustainability achievements. Pre-construction is scheduled to begin September 2023. Construction (Phase 2) is scheduled to begin March 2024. Pre-qualification documents will be available the week of July 31, 2023.
