Silicon Valley Power (SVP) is the City of Santa Clara's 126-year-old Electric Utility that serves over 57,000 customers. The City of Santa Clara purchased the Morse Mansion Property (Property) in 2016. The Property is in the National Historic Registry and is currently leased to a Santa Clara University Sorority. On November 1, 2022 the City Council held a Study Session (Exhibit 1) to discuss the future of the Property. The City Council discussion was to consider a possible option to continue with its current use or convert it to a Silicon Valley Power (SVP) Sustainability and Historic Center (Center), depending on the feasibility of doing this.
