The signs are over 20 years old and have reached the end of their useful life. These signs were also mentioned in the Airport's 2021 Part 139 Annual Airport Safety Certification Inspection for being old and beginning to see signs failing. The new signs will be based on FAA requirements set forth in FAA AC 150/5345-44K Specification for Runway and Taxiway signs. The objective of the project is to update the airfield signs to the latest standards for readability, reliability and safety.
