Site work and paving for a civil project in Dunedin, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
PN-2019-047 The work generally consists of the following: The reconstruction of that portion of Santa Barbara Drive south of San Salvador to the dead end. This section of street is approximately 730 feet in length and 30 feet wide. It is a brick street. The street has failed as a result of poor underlying material below the brick. The project will remove and replace gutters on both sides of the street, remove, storage and replace the brick, remove existing unsuitable material to a depth of 23 inches below final brick bottom, install concrete stabilizers at specified intervals, remove and replace water and sewer lines crossing street, with water lines to be cased. Care is to be given to the removal and temporary storage of brick. Purchase of a limited amount of new brick is included to make up for damaged un-usable brick. Access and services to residences is to be maintained throughout the construction. Bid Bond 5% The time allotted for this project is 110 days for substantial completion. All contractor Requests for Information (RFI) must be submitted ten (10) days before the bid opening, to Chuck Ankney, CPPO, Purchasing Agent, at cankney@dunedinfl.net, prior to 2:00 p.m., local time. The City will not respond to RFI's submitted after that date. The City will process the requests and respond within a timely manner. All work performed shall be in accordance with the Contract Documents. Two copies of the bid proposal shall be submitted on the standard forms that are included in the specifications and must be marked, "SEALED BID FOR CONTRACT Financial Project #: 632301 Bid #: 23-1218 DO NOT OPEN IN MAIL ROOM." In addition, the proposals must be marked with the bidder's name and address and be accepted by the Purchasing Office by the time and date specified above. Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check or a cashier's check or an acceptable bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, as guarantee that the BIDDER will not withdraw from the competition after the opening of the bids and, if written notice is given of such award, enter into a written Contract with the City of Dunedin, Florida, in accordance with the written Proposal. Should the successful BIDDER fail to enter into a Contract, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages. The successful BIDDER will be required to furnish and pay for a Certificate of Insurance, a Performance and Payment Bond, and meet other requirements, as set forth in the contract. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. The City of Dunedin is not responsible for the US Mail or private couriers regarding mail being delivered by the specified time so that a bid can be considered. Proposals by telephone, email, text, telegraph, or FAX will not be accepted. One contract shall be awarded for all work outlined above and described in the plans and specifications. The City of Dunedin, Florida reserves the right to reject any and all bids received, to waive any irregularities or informalities, to re-advertise and to award the Contract in its best interest. Bids which are incomplete or which are not submitted in accordance with instructions in the INVITATION may be disqualified.
