Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Cullman, Alabama. Working plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
The CWAC flooring project will include the furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to perform all work necessary to remove the old flooring, provide new flooring, and the installation of the new flooring at CWAC. The project will be done in phases over a period of time. The first phase will consist of the demolition of the existing flooring in multiple areas of CWAC. The demolition must be coordinated with CPRST to minimally disrupt normal business at CWAC. The demolition must also be done after hours and cleaned up prior to start of business each day. Plastic sheeting and dust scrubbers must be used during the project for dust control. After the demolition is complete, CPRST will paint at the CWAC prior to the starting of the final phase of the CWAC flooring project. The final phase of the CWAC flooring project is the installation of the flooring, base, and stair treads, which will be specified by CPRST, including any necessary prep work including but not limited to crack filling, floor leveling, applying adhesive, etc. The flooring installation must be coordinated with CPRST to minimize the disruption to daily business at CWAC. Bidders must have a State of Alabama general contractors license. Bidders must have at least ten years of contracting experience and provide three references from prior flooring jobs. Bidders must submit a certificate of insurance (COI) with their bid. The COI should clearly state their general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage limits. Bidders must provided a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama in the amount not less than 5 percent and up to a maximum of $10,000. Before the bid is awarded, bidders must provide CPRST with a performance bond for 100 percent of the contract price and a payment bond for 50 percent of the contract price. Prior to the start of any work, the contractor must first obtain and keep current during the project all city privilege (business) licenses and city building permits. CPRST reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bids shall not include federal or state taxes. Bids shall include all shipping, handling, and freight costs. CPRST will not reimburse any bidder for costs incurred in developing and/or submitting their bid. All bids with required documentation must be placed in a sealed envelope which is clearly marked CWAC Flooring (Bid #23-001). Bids will not be accepted via email or fax. Bids will not be accepted after the bid opening. General contractors must fully explain the warranty in their bid submittal. Questions should be directed to Kyle Clark email: kclark@cprst.org.
