As of May 19, 2025, this project is still on hold. The St. Bernard Parish Government (SBPG) is seeking assistance for architectural/engineering (A/E) services for and subsequent implementation of the Chenier Nature Trail. SBPG with LWFC has allocated $800,000 for the project, which includes construction, engineering, and all other related project costs. The SBPG is soliciting qualification statements for A/E services to assist the SBPG with surveying, preliminary design, final design, bidding, construction administration and inspections of this project in compliance with Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Program requirements. The agreement will be on a lump sum, fixed price basis for each task, with payment terms to be negotiated with the selected offeror. Reimbursement for services will be contingent on the SBPG receiving funding from the Land & Water Conservation Fund. The maximum amount of A/E fees that can be paid with Land &Water Conservation Funds will be determined by the LWCF staff and may require adjustments in the proposed contract amount. St. Bernard Parish Government reserves the right to negotiate with any and all persons or firms submitting a Request for Qualifications. St. Bernard Parish reserves the right to reject any Request for Qualifications response for failure to meet the requirements contained herein, to waive any technical requirement, and to select the firm, in the Parish's judgment, whom best meets the requirements of this project and the needs of the Parish The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
