As of March 29, 2023, project is cancelled. No definite date for the rebid. The texas department of criminal justice (tdcj) is currently seeking bids to establish a purchase order for the procurement of two (2) 15-ton, two (2) 12.5-ton packaged roof top units, duct work, 250 kw generator, 400 amp automatic transfer switch (ats), to include delivery, start-up and training. Phase 1 Install PAHUs with Temporary Power Arrangement - Install new concrete pads for the new Packaged Air Handling Units (PAHU) and the 250 kW Generator as shown on the drawings. Place the new equipment on the concrete pads. Coordinate the demo of the ventilation systems with PA to minimize downtime for each dorm Locate the existing conductors supplying the 400 amp main disconnect (MDP) panel ZH1 located in the electrical room of Building Z from the existing 1500 KVA pad mounted transformer ST-1. Install a new 200 amp, 480/277v, 3ph, MCB, 30 ckt panel in Bldg Z Electrical Room (or in adjacent Mechanical Room). Panel to be labeled ZH3 and connect to conductors from transformer ST-1 feeding existing panel ZH1. Panel ZH3 will replace the existing panel ZHE2. Relocate existing ZHE2 circuits to ZH3 as needed. Run new electrical conduit and conductors as needed. Remove circuits for ACCU-F9, EDH-F9, EDH-F10, and EDH-F11 from the 125a, 480/277v, 3ph,18 ckt Panel ZHE2. A. Remove circuits for AHU-F1 to AHU-F6 & AHU-F9 to AHU-F11, and EDH control from panel ZLE. B. Remove circuit for AHU-F8 from panel ZL1 C. Relocate the 60 amp can baler circuit from existing panel ZHE2 to another ZH panel. Run new PAHU loads to new panel ZH3 and terminate. (For cell area Z6, the existing wiring from ZHE-2 to EDH-F10 and/or EDH-F11 may be suitable to power the new PAHU-Z6. Existing wire size and integrity to be verified by contractor and reviewed by PA.) All new exterior duct shall be double wall with a minimum 24 gauge thick galvanized, G90 sheet metal. All new exterior duct shall be internally insulated with R-value of 8. The exterior duct requirements shall extend inside a minimum of 3 feet. New interior duct (not within the min. 3 feet of the exterior wall) shall be single wall with a minimum 22 gauge thick galvanized, G90 sheet metal and insulation is not required. Phase 2 - Install the new generator & ATS Install a new 250 KW 480y/277v 3-phase emergency diesel powered generator on the new concrete pad on the south side of Bldg Z. Install a new 400 amp 480y/277v 3-phase 4-wire 4-pole service entrance rated automatic transfer switch (ATS) with NEMA 3R enclosure in place of the existing 100A ATS. If the new ATS does not fit in the existing location, find another suitable location in the electrical room or adjacent mechanical room. Install conduit and conductors from new generator and connect to new ATS-Z. Install new and/or re-route the existing conductors from MDP ZH1 to the new 400A ATS to supply the ATS normal power. Install new conductors from the new 400 amp ATS to the existing 400 amp MDP ZH1 and the new 200A panel ZH3. All new PAHUs must be tested at the same time under full load for 10 minutes from the emergency backup power.
