The Work under this project includes installing an epoxy deck overlay, applying waterproofing to concrete on bridge and approach railing pedestal, fascia, fascia beams, light post support precast cladding, and substructure, performing structural concrete repairs, painting of the aluminum railing, repair and replacing select tree grate frames, and other minor site civil related work. Work to be Substantially Completed in: 180 calendar days Liquidated Damages: five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day after substantial completion / two hundred dollars ($200.00) per day after final completion Performance Bond: one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bond: one hundred percent (100%) Bid Bond: five percent (5%) Question Deadline 05/14/2024 at 4:00 PM ET All Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted through the Questions portal. Any RFI submitted after this date cannot be guaranteed a response by the City A Bid Bond, certified check, or cashier's check made payable to the Treasurer, City of Norfolk, for 5% of total bid must accompany each bid. Offerors shall upload a copy of the bid guarantee with the Offeror's acknowledgement to mail the original sealed document to the Owner, within two (2) business days. State Contractor registration class and number is required by electronic bidding via the Vendor Questionnaire. The Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price. Said bonds shall be delivered to the Owner (in duplicate) and shall be approved by the Owner prior to the execution of a construction contract between the Contractor and the Owner. Bonds shall be City of Norfolk standard form and shall be in accordance with Section 33.1-76 of the Norfolk City Code. All costs of bonds shall be paid by the Contractor. A bond rider will be required should change orders increase the amount of the contract by $100,000 or more. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available. The City reserves the right to cancel the bid opening or to reject any or all bids in whole or part, when it is in the best interest of the City. The right to waive informalities and to determine responsiveness of any bid and responsibility of all bidders is reserved to the City.
