Demolition and site work for a residential development in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The City of Norfolk is seeking a responsible vendor to provide Demolition and Site Restoration Services at 1045 E. Brambleton Avenue according to the terms, conditions, and specifications of this solicitation. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part and to waive informalities. Bidders shall submit bids, in accordance with the IFB requirements and maintain compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. The contents of the bid of the selected Bidder(s) will be incorporated and made a part of any City contractual obligation when the award(s) is made. Liquidated Damages - The City and Contractor recognize that time is of the essence under the resulting agreement and the City will suffer if the project is not completed within the required timeframe . The City and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for any delay, the Contractor shall pay the City TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) per day for each calendar day beyond the stipulated time for completion until the work is completed in accordance with the contract documents and special conditions contained herein. It is understood that the City shall and may deduct and retain the amount of such liquidated damages out of the monies that may be due or become due to Contractor under the resulting agreement A fully completed and properly executed original Bid Bond, cashier's check, certified check, money order, or cash escrow in the amount of 5% of the amount of the bid made payable to the Treasurer of the City of Norfolk shall accompany each bid. Fully completed and properly executed Payment and Performance Bonds in the amount of 100% of the bid amount will be required of the Contractor to ensure satisfactory completion of the work and payment of all subcontractors. Question Deadline May 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm All questions relating to this solicitation shall be submitted through the Questions and Answers tab in the electronic solicitation posting for IFB No. 10397-0-2024/MF at online. Questions should be succinct. Prior to the award of a contract resulting from this solicitation, bidders are prohibited from contacting City staff other than the Office of the Purchasing Agent. If any questions or responses require revisions to this solicitation as it was originally published, such revisions will be by formal Addenda only. Bidders are cautioned that any written, electronic, or oral representations made by any City representative or other person that appear to change materially any portion of the solicitation shall not be relied upon unless subsequently ratified by a written Addendum to this solicitation issued by the Office of the Purchasing Agent through the Office of the Purchasing Agent's electronic bid service provider website No questions will be considered if they are submitted after May 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time The Contractor will have ninety (90) calendar days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed to complete the job unless otherwise specified in writing by the City) and Add End date 90 calendar days."
