The City of Ottawa has a requirement for qualified contractors to provide all labour, equipment, and materials for the provision of two (2) fully equipped, self-contained four-person grass cutting crews to supplement City forces for the turf-growing season for the SP3 Maintenance Zone. Assignments are located in the approximate area bounded by the Rideau river in the west, Highway 417 in the north and east and Hunt Club Rd. in the south. The Contractor's crews shall perform all grass mowing and trimming at assigned sites, working alone or in conjunction with other city maintenance crews in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications of RFT No. 15223-98836-T01. The following equipment shall be a minimum requirement for use by each crew: - 1 - Pickup truck/crew cab capable of transporting the crew - 2 - Commercial ride-on rotary type mowers (minimum 60" cutting width) - 1 - tow behind trailer to transport the equipment - 2 - push mowers (minimum 21" cutting width) - 3 - Grass trimmers, gas or battery powered - 1 - Backpack blower, gas or battery powered -Rakes - Shovels - Brooms - Any and all safety apparel/equipment The period of contract shall be for the 2023 spring/summer/fall maintenance season. All unit rates shall remain FIRM for the initial period of contract. The City may, at its discretion, extend the period of contract for up to four (4) additional spring/summer/fall maintenance seasons, subject to satisfactory performance by the Contractor and provided the contract pricing, terms and conditions for the extended period are acceptable to the City and the Contractor.
