The work for which bids are asked includes, but not necessarily limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the SBCUSD - Blackhawk Mechanical Upgrades located at 840 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL 61080 respectively. The bid will include the removal and replacement of existing HVAC systems, electrical service upgrades, and other items outlined on the contract documents. All work will be issued under a single prime contract for general construction. BIDS: All bids shall be addressed to Mr. Scott Fisher, Superintendent and shall be enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, marked with the name and address of the bidder, project title, and the contract number for which the bid is being submitted. All bidders shall bid in accordance with the contract documents and shall bid upon the bid forms included in the Contract Documents. LEGAL PROVISIONS: The Contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of Illinois Statutes, as well as any other applicable sections thereof. Failure to visit the site or failure to examine any and all Contract Documents will in no way relieve the successful bidder from necessity of furnishing any materials or equipment, or performing any work, that may be required to complete the work in accordance with the Drawings and Project Manual. Neglect of the above requirements will not be accepted as reason for delay in the work or additional compensation. WAGE RATES: Prevailing wage rates, as established, published and set forth in accordance with State law, are applicable to this project. Compliance with 2021 Illinois, 820 ILCS 130 state prevailing wage law for local government units such as villages, towns, cities, and school districts is required." BID SECURITY: A certified check or satisfactory Bid Bond payable to South Beloit Community Unit School District 320 in the amount of 10% of the bid shall accompany each bid as a guarantee. If the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the Agreement, the Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond, as required by the Contract Documents, within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award of the Contract by South Beloit Community Unit School District 320. Failure on the part of the bidder to do so will result in forfeiture of the bidder's certified check or Bid Bond to South Beloit Community Unit School District 320 as liquidated damages. BID WITHDRAWAL: No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the schedule opening of the bids without the consent of the Owner or Architect. BID REJECTION: South Beloit Community Unit School District 320 reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive any informalities in bidding, or to accept the bid or bids, which best serve the interests of the South Beloit Community Unit School District 320.
