The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified vendors for the purchase and installation of a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) associated with a high service pump for the Water & Pollution Control Department. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City. Questions Deadline: 1/18/2023 05:00 PM (CT) The purpose of the Invitation for Bid is to solicit bids from qualified Contractor to provide and install a variable frequency drive (VFD) and all related work associated with a high service pump located at Ames Water Treatment Plant. This project will provide and install a new VFD unit to control one of the existing high service pumps. This work shall also include all of the required connections, electrical equipment, and integration services needed to allow the operation of the VFD through the existing SCADA system and manual operation. The VFD shall allow the pump to accelerate and decelerate so as to prevent water hammer, limit pressure swings, and maintain desired set points.
