MASONRY The work shall start after March 23, 2023, and shall be completed by April 6, 2023. If weather does not permit this start date, work may begin on June 1, 2023 and must be completed by June 23, 2023. -Remove 8' x 8' brick veneer that has bowed out at the top of the wall at the expansion joint on the north and south walls of exterior masonry. The brick veneer will be replaced and properly anchored to the existing block wall. -Install DryFix masonry anchors at 16" OC at the bottom four (4') foot of masonry wall below where the brick repair is being done to stabilize the wall and prevent future movement. - Remove all limestone caps around the structure including the wall that encloses the cooling tower and abuts the red canopy at the school entrance, install stainless steel flashing with drip edge, then reinstall existing limestone cap to prevent further infiltration of water/moisture into the masonry wall. - Remove and replace 25% of existing mortar joints at all elevations around the storage room and screen wall from the storage room to the canopy. -Remove and replace all sealant in existing expansion joints where the storage room meets the screen wall. - Remove and replace approximately 100 damaged bricks. -Expose the lintels above the man and overhead doors, clean the existing steel, apply rust inhibiting primer, and install flashing, weeps to allow water to escape, and drip edge. - Power wash the existing masonry to remove pollution stains and efflorescence. - Install sealant at the bottom of exterior masonry wall where the masonry meets the sidewalk. - Midland Public Schools will provide water and power to the project for mixing mortar and power washing at no cost to the contractor
