Renovation of a stadium in Midland, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a stadium.

**As of June 19, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded . A timeline for award has not yet been established. Technical questions shall be directed to Tyler Abbs, Facilities Manager, at (989) 837-3370. Invitation to Bid and all its pages, documents and attachments, including those added subsequently by written notice, submitted and properly executed, shall constitute the contract between the City of Midland and the successful vendor when approved and accepted by the City. A certified check or bid bond for a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Proposal will be required with each bid. The City reserves the right to accept or reject all or any parts of any and all bids, to waive irregularities and to award in the best interests of the City of Midland. Scope: The Midland Civic Arena is accepting bids for the removal and disposal of three (3) Riverside Hydronic Model V420A-PI hot water storage tanks and installation of two new 750 gallon (minimum size) 125 psi working pressure, jacketed and insulated storage tanks. General Conditions: 1. Work cannot begin until May 1, 2023 and has to be completed no later than August 25, 2023. 2. Contractor will be responsible for all permits and bonds cost associated with this project. 3. The contractor shall not commence the work until all materials and equipment are on-site. 4. All work shall be done during normal business hours - Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. weekend work or extended hours, if needed can scheduled through the City of Midland Facilities Manager. 5. The existing hot water storage tanks are located in a second-floor mechanical room. Access can be made by either by a single flight staircase or elevator. a. Access into the mechanical room is through a 36" wide door. b. Removal of a section of wall on the 2nd floor mezzanine will be required to install the new tanks. See below original drawings of location for wall removal and existing room layout. 6. Two (2) of the existing Riverside Hydronic storage tanks are still in use. One of the storage tanks has been removed from service and the insulation around the tank has been removed. Specifications: 1. Removal and proper disposal of three (3) Riverside Hydronic Model V420A-PI hot water storage tanks will be the responsibility of the contractor. a. Old tanks must be removed from the site within 5 business days of them being removed from the mechanical room. 2. Contractor will be responsible for the removal of a section of non-loadbearing wall on the second-floor mezzanine to gain access for the new hot water storage tanks to be installed. a. Once new tanks have been removed new 5/8" gypsum to be installed on both sides. i. Mechanical room gypsum only to be finished and primer applied ii. Mezzanine side gypsum to be finished and whole wall to be painted to match existing 3. Installation of tank a. Tank shall be a Lochinvar R*A0752 752 Gallon, 125 psi working pressure, jacketed and insulated storage tanks with manway or approved equivalent. b. Contractor will be responsible for all rigging, removal and reinstallation of obstacles to get new tanks into the existing 2nd floor mechanical room. c. Contactor will be responsible for all piping of the tanks into the existing hot water supply and return system for the Civic Arena. i. Contactor will install new ball valves on both the inlet out outlet of each tank d. Contractor will be responsible for all piping of pressure relief and tank drain valves per local code. 4. Pipe Insulation a. Replace insulation removed or damaged during work. Match existing in thickness and type of insulation. b. All new piping will be insulated to current mechanical code. 5. Warranty a. Contactors Labor Warranty for one-year minimum form date of substantial completion. b. Manufacturer's Product Warranty five-years minimum from date of substantial completion.
