Renovation of an educational facility in Morehead, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Ginger Hall Chiller Installation Project will take place within Ginger Hall located on the campus of Morehead State University. This scope of work includes the replacement of the existing water cooled chiller located at the lower level of Ginger Hall, as well as associated mechanical and electrical work. The new chiller will be water cooled to be located within the building. All required piping and associated mechanical work shall be included as indicated in the plans. The new chiller will be connected to the existing chilled water piping and pumping distribution system. The chiller shall be owner-furnished and contractor installed. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to receive shipment of and unload the owner-furnished equipment when it arrives. A bid alternate is included in the scope of work to replace the existing condenser water pumps and some associated piping. Bids will be received from contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the total project. All phases of the work shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official proposal form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions as set forth and described in the Bid Documents. Bids shall be submitted only on the Official Forms supplied by Morehead State University, Procurement Services. Failure to comply with the foregoing requirements will be cause for invalidation of bid. Substantial completion shall be 60 calendar days after contract start date. Final completion shall be 75 calendar days after contract start date. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Questions about obtaining plans and specifications may be directed to Andrea Stone at a.stone@moreheadstate.edu There is no fee for an electronic download of the plans for contractors. Contractors who wish to obtain paper copies of the plans should contact Lynn Imaging to make these arrangements. Printing fees are the responsibility of the contractor. Fees for plan rooms wishing to have drawings are posted on the Lynn Imaging page. In addition, bids received via fax or e-mail are not acceptable. MSU accepts deliveries of bids Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Bids must be received by the Office of Procurement Services by 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in order to be considered. Bids shall be enclosed in sealed envelopes and shall show on the face of the envelope: the closing time and date specified, the solicitation number, and the name and address of bidder. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Clerical errors and omissions in the computation of the lump sum shall not be cause for withdrawal of the bid without forfeiture of bid bond. Bids may be withdrawn in person only, prior to the closing date for receipt of bids. Bidders using minority enterprises as subcontractors and material suppliers are requested to identify these contractors in the space provided on the Form of Proposal. The successful contractor will be asked to supply associated contract amounts rounded to the nearest $500.00 prior to the signing of a contract. Morehead State University, Procurement Services, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served. A. The Listing of major subcontractors, unit prices, and material lists are to be submitted with the bid. B. A prime bidder is to have a responsible authorized representative at the bid opening for post bid review of the apparent low bid that follows immediately after the opening and reading of the bids. Failure to comply with this requirement may be cause for rejection of bid.
