Question Cuttoff Date & Time 1/20/2023 06:00:00 PM (ET) The project site is located at the Ames Downtown Plaza, 510 Clark Ave, Ames, IA 50010. The work is to install fiber from City Hall to the new Plaza building. The conduit will be placed as part of the Plaza project by others. The work will consist of cameras to be installed for the site and integrated into the City's existing Milestone system. Access control will be installed on all exterior doors of the Plaza building, including restrooms, and integrated into our existing Lenel system. An outdoor sound system for the site will be included. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. If the accepted bid is over $25,000, the selected Contractor will be required to provide a performance and payment bond equal to the total bid amount. Contractor will include the cost of the performance and payment bond in the bid. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City's Risk Manager and shall guarantee faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee prompt payment of material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the work in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. The contractor shall not include sales or use taxes in the bid. Pursuant to Iowa Code and Iowa Administrative Code, the contractor will be authorized to purchase building materials that will be incorporated into real property on this project tax-free. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provision grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
