As of January 31, 2024, per owner, an engineer has been identified. The project is still in preliminary design phase and expected to be completed in April 2024, with construction starting soon after. The City of Elkton, Kentucky, is Requesting Proposals from KYTC prequalified professional engineering firms for the purpose of providing planning, design, construction administration and other required engineering services associated with the proposed West Main Improvement Project. The proposed project is to replace and/or extend 5-foot wide (minimum) Pedestrian Paths along various sections of West Main Street in the City of Elkton. Additional storm sewer improvements will also be included to accommodate the sidewalk features and improve drainage conditions. The selected Consultant will be required to provide design services, including, but not limited to the preparation of engineering studies, design studies, Section 106 review, environmental review, identification of appropriate typical sections, identifying any utility impacts, performing drainage design, archaeology, final right-of-way plans, construction plans, traffic control, developing dependable cost estimates, conducting and preparing documents for public meetings All firms submitting an RFP must be prequalified with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet by the time of the proposal opening The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
