Renovation of an educational facility in Americus, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
GSW is seeking qualified contractors to replace the main electrical service line and the main switchboard and connect to existing transformers and panels through building. Provide a new 600A/3P/3R fused service disconnect switch adjacent to the padmount transformer on the side of the Business History Building. This is the padmount transformer that also serves the English Building. Provide service entrance connections to the padmount transformer. Provide new 600 amp feeders from the new disconnect switch to a new 600 amp, 480Y/277 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire distribution panelboard in the main electrical/mechanical room on the first floor of the English Building. This new underground conduit route will require saw cutting existing concrete sidewalks and courtyard areas. All concrete shall be patched back to match existing conditions. Replace all downstream electrical panelboards and dry type transformers in place unless shown otherwise on plans. There are two existing panelboards on the first floor that will remain in place. The dry type transformer that serves the 480 volt elevator shall be removed and not replaced. This elevator shall be served directly from the new 600 amp panelboard.
