Upgrades and repairs to the Kakwa Trail Corridor. The 22 km trail begins at the Lick Creek Staging Area and ends at the day-use area in Kakwa Wildland Park. Scope of work includes: a. Trail reinstatement plan for ~4.1 km of existing trail, b. Trail design for an ~1.8 km extension to the trail, c. Plans for 3 watercourse culvert crossings, d. Plans for 2 watercourse armoured crossings, and e. Engineered Bridge Design for watercourse crossing No.12 as identified in the Kakwa Falls Trail Feasibility Study (15m). TIMELINE: Council has approved a capital grant to the Kakwa Sherman Trail Society - a not-for-profit organization focusing on restoring and maintaining trails. All work will be completed by volunteers. No public tenders are expected to ensue.
