Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Morrisville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; transportation facility; and transportation facility.
For the furnishing of labor, material and equipment entering into the construction of the following items of work: GA Area Pavement Rehabilitation, Maintenance Facility Parking Lot Rehabilitation, and Runway 5R23L Rehabilitation Plans may also be reviewed at the offices of the Raleigh Durham Airport Authority located at 1018 Trade Drive, Raleigh-Durham Airport, North Carolina 27623 and at Delta Airport Consultants, Inc. located at 1750 E International Dr, Raleigh, NC 27612. All Contractors are hereby notified that they must comply with any and all Federal or State Contractor Licensing Requirements including any requirements applicable for furnishing and installing the work depicted in bid documents. General Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to but not less than 5% of the proposal or a bid bond of 5% of the bid executed as set forth in the Instruction to Bidders by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds. The deposits shall be made payable to the Owner and shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to properly execute the contract within ten (10) days after the award and to give satisfactory surety as required by law. By submitting a bid the Contractor certifies that it, and its proposed subcontractors, has under its direct control or at his disposal the personnel, equipment and materials required to execute the Project work as specified. Lack of such control or availability of personnel, equipment and materials shall constitute failure to properly execute the contract. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds will be required for 100% of the Contract Sum. The Owner reserves the right to retain all bids for a period of 90 days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. No bid may be withdrawn by a bidder within 90 days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and minor irregularities. It is the policy of the Authority that neither the Authority, its contractors, service providers, subcontractors nor vendors, shall discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, or gender in the award and performance of contracts, subcontracts and purchases. The Authority has established a Minority and Women-Owned Small Business Program (MWSB Program) to encourage equal opportunity for MWSBs to compete for employment as contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and service providers. It is also the Authority's policy to remove barriers which may exist for MWSBs to compete for contracts, subcontracts and procurement awarded by the Authority. Additional information concerning the Authority's MWSB Program may be found on the internet electronically The Authority awards contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national origin, gender, age or handicapping condition. The Authority's contracts are subject to the requirements of North Carolina law, and this contract will be awarded in accord therewith. The MWSB Goals for MWSB participation on this contract represent the total dollars that will be spent with MWSBs as a percentage of the total contract amount, including any change orders and contingency. In accordance with the MWSB Program, the Authority will require that the selected firm must either meet the MWSB goals or demonstrate that the bidder has made sufficient good faith efforts to meet the MWSB goals. The MWSB goals are as follows: minority-owned businesses - 8%; woman-owned small businesses - 5%. Submit all questions in writing to jim.novak@rdu.com by Monday February 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM GA-3-inch mill and overlay o Grade infields and area behind t-hangar for positive drainage o Lower drainage structures o Replace fire hydrants o Lower water valve and install concrete pad around valve o Install temporary cable to maintain power at hangars o Saw cut and seal joint between concrete and asphalt taxilane o Seal coat 2-foot offset not being milled and overlaid o Remove gate track Maintenance-3 Pavement Types o Mill and Overlay o FDR with Asphalt Overlay o Concrete - Spill Containment Area o Replace Gate Loops o Install conduit for future use at bus parking, fueling area, and between fueling area and building o Install and maintain traffic control for access during all work areas o Repair curb and gutter where noted o Adjust water valve to grade as needed o Seal coat offset not being rehabilitated Runway-2-inch mill and overlay of 2 lanes of Runway 5R-23L o Remove TDZ lights prior to work on Runway 5R-23L and replace at conclusion of work o Crack Seal and remark blast pads on Runway 5R-23L o Full depth runway repair on Runway 5R-23L o Crack Seal blast pads on Runway 5L-23R
