Renovation of a municipal facility in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts, acting through its Town Administration, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for Dormitory repairs and painting of the Seasonal Dormitory located at 54 Low Beach Road, Nantucket, MA 02554, in accordance with Project Manual dated January 17, 2023. The Project consists of the selected removal of wood wall paneling and suspended ceilings, surface repairs, preparation and painting of gypsum wall and concrete masonry walls, priming and/or painting of wood trim, removal of a kitchen range hood and other miscellaneous repairs. The Work consists of the following: Furnish all labor, tools, equipment, and materials for the selected removal of wood wall paneling and suspended ceilings, surface repairs, preparation and painting of gypsum wall and concrete masonry walls, priming and/or painting of wood trim, removal of a kitchen range hood and other miscellaneous repairs in selected rooms within two dormitory buildings. Clean all work areas and remove all trash, debris, etc. from premises. 1. Project Location: 54 Low Beach Road, Nantucket, MA 02554 Completion Requirements: Timely completion of the project is critical as occupancy is required by June 3, 2023. All bids for this Project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, M.G.L c. 149, 44A-J, 810 CMR 9.00 and minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work: General Building Construction and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and a signed Update Statement (CQ3). Every General Bid and every Filed Sub-Bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), in the form of a bid bond in a form satisfactory to the Town of Nantucket, with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the respective general bid, and made payable to the Town of Nantucket. Each bidder is advised to visit the site of the proposed work, become fully acquainted with conditions as they exist, and thoroughly examine the Contract Documents. Failure of any bidder to visit the site and to examine the Contract Documents shall in no way relieve the bidder from any obligation with regard to the bid as submitted. Arrangements for site visitation, during the bidding period, may be made in the manner set forth in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The successful General Bidder will be required to provide a performance bond, and a labor and materials payment bond, issued by a company authorized to do business in Massachusetts and satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, each bond being in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Amount. The minimum wages to be paid for all labor on the project are established in a schedule issued by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, in accordance with Section 26A - 27D inclusive, of Chapter 149 of the M.G.L., as amended, said schedule being made a part of the Contract Documents and is included therein. Materials, equipment and supplies to be used on this project are exempt from sales tax to the extent provided by M.G.L. Chapter 64H, Section 6(f). General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work: General Building Construction and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and a signed Update Statement (CQ3). The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Town of Nantucket reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Nantucket.
