Upgrades and repairs to the city road infrastructure. The scope of the project includes repairs/replacement of watermains and sewers, road improvement and paving work. The project implementation will allow to secure and improve the comfort of pedestrians and cyclists, improve accessibility by active and collective modes to the Royal-Victoria site, including the future McGill New Vic campus; maintain the functionality of the arterial network, particularly for buses and ambulances, green the public domain, enhance the sector's heritage buildings, upgrade municipal infrastructures and urban technical networks. The project is divided into five sections relating to Pine Avenue (Avenue des Pins): - Pins Avenue between Docteur-Penfield Avenue and Parc Avenue (construction in 2027-2028); - University Street between Milton Street and Pine Avenue (construction in 2028); - University Street between Pine Avenue and the end of University Street (construction in 2029); - Docteur Penfiel Avenue between McTavish Street and Pine Avenue (construction in 2031); - Pine Avenue between Peel Street and Docteur-Penfield Avenue (construction 2032). Note. The value of the construction program may be as high as $60 million. TIMELINE: The awarded civil engineering professional consulting firm has submitted to the owner preliminary and final draft reports for the Phase 2 of the Avenue des Pins redevelopment project. The owner is finalizing the project scope and expects to issue a request for proposals for design of the project packages. No construction will immediately follow this report.
