Separate contracts will be awarded for the various elements of the Project Work. The separate contracts comprising the Project have separate liquidated damages provisions for each. University's Representative will coordinate the separate contracts, working within the framework of the Contract Schedule. Climbing Wall: Provide new climbing wall complete as described in documents including fixed and movable padded flooring. Climbing Wall Contractor to include in bid the design by a CA licensed Structural Engineer of attachment to existing building structure. If SE determines that existing structure needs to be modified to support attachment, those modifications need to be included in bid. General: Drinking fountain replacement, modifications to floor at drinking fountains, drinking fountain guard rails. Door opening threshold replacements, including some unit costs. Tactile exit signs. Original Bid Bond must be RECEIVED within 48 hours of Bid Deadline at: CAPITAL PROJECTS, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY, 1936 University Avenue, Suite 222, Berkeley, CA 94704. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: "A OR C-61 AND D-34" General Engineering OR Limited Specialty AND Prefabricated Equipment Contractor "B" General Building Contractor Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.
