Renovation of an educational facility in Honolulu, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Bidding for this contract is restricted to Ventilation and Air Conditioning contractors only with C-52 license and 5 years minimum experience specializing in HVAC equipment repair work. Replacement work must be performed by certified technician(s). All work shall be in compliance with all Federal and local codes and ordinances, especially with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). The Contractor shall read the General Conditions and Special Provisions distributed at the contractor information meeting, as they form part of the agreement to be entered into between the Contractor and the State. (1) Location: Kaiser High School Campus located at 511 Lunalilo Home Rd, Honolulu, HI 96825 (2) Furnish labor, materials, equipment, DDC controls, Variable speed drive and all incidentals necessary for the installation and proper operation, including connections to electrical power supply and interconnecting ductwork, of new A/C unit. Replacement of the equipment shall be as in accordance with equipment schedule shown in "Attachment A". (3) The contractor is made aware of all hazardous lead paint and asbestos indicated is in the report attached in "Attachment B". All provisions for abatement shall be provided as part of this project in accordance with all EPA, OSHA, State and Federal regulations as applicable. (4) The contractor shall conform with all HIOSH regulations as part of this contract as applicable. (5) Verify the equipment information, including the model number, power supply requirement, etc. Provide replacement air conditioning equipment as specified or approved equal. The Contractor shall provide and connect all electrical wiring and switchgear as indicated. The Contractor shall also provide test and balance report for all AC equipment from a certified TAB contractor. (6) Make all arrangements with the school for downtimes to minimize disruption to school classes and schedules. Minimize disruption to school traffic. Provide adequate safety barricades and signs around work site. Keep work area safe and neat. Clean up work area daily after work. (7) New time clocks shall be Tork DWZ200B or approved equal as specified. (8) All new evaporator coils shall be provided with new Ultraviolet (UV-C) Lights: The UV-C fixtures shall be minimum 9,000 hours minimum with no more than a 20% loss of output after two years of continuous use. The fixtures and lamps shall be made for the packaged AC equipment use per manufacturers recommendations. Fixtures shall meet the UL drip-proof design criteria. Fixtures shall be constructed of stainless steel to resist corrosion. The light shall prevent mold and mildew growth on the coil and condensate pan. There shall be a mechanical interlock switch that disconnects power to the lights when the access door is opened and also an externally mounted disconnect switch that disconnects power to the UV-C lights with a lock-out/tag-out to prevent unwanted operation of the UV-C lights and warning labels installed reading "Danger - UV lights inside. Turn off prior to opening or servicing unit." to caution personnel before any access is opened. The light shall be Sterileaire or approved equal. (9) Provide corrosion protection coating for all exterior installed equipment and aluminum condenser coils that has direct contact to untreated outdoor airstreams. The entire apparatus being coated shall be dismantled to the maximum degree without disturbing piping or wiring. Upon completion of the coating, the apparatus shall be reassembled with care so that the coating surface is not damaged. Surface preparation and application shall be in strict accordance with the coating manufacturer's instructions. Aluminum finned coil coating system shall be Blygold Polual or approved equal. The total dry film thickness of the top coat shall be 20 to 25 microns (0.020 to 0.025). The coating shall provide inherent protection against ultraviolet radiation and be temperature resistant up to 365 degree F (180 degree C). The coating manufacturers shall be able to document the successful completion of accelerated product testing of a minimum 3000 hours in both salt spray (ASTM B117) and acetic salt spray tests (ASTM B287); and shall be able to provide a 3 year conditional warranty for the coating in Hawaii. Coating System for Other Surfaces: Ameron PSX 700 Engineered Siloxane shall be properly modified and applied by the approved applicator until a total of 6-8 mils DFT is achieved. Approved applicator company is International A/C coatings or approved equal. (10) New Thermostats shall be Carrier 33CSZ2PPP2S to match Carrier units. Trane units shall use Trane BAYSTAT151 thermostats to match the Trane unit. Marvair units shall use matching Honeywell electronic thermostat. (11) Remove all R-22 AC equipment and appurtenances. The removed equipment shall become the property of the Contractor and shall be disposed of off site at an approved disposal site in accordance with all EPA laws and regulations. Disconnect all wires that connect to fan motors. Check the wires to the fan motor for cracks, corrosion and breakage, replace if necessary. Do not disturb other components. Duct shall be sealed tightly to avoid outside object intrusion. All duct joints shall be sealed with silicone seal. (12) All new duct insulation shall follow the latest SMACNA standards for weather proof exterior wrap as noted. (13) Install the new AC equipment and appurtenances at the point of connections shown or as agreed upon with the DOE project engineers. Provide all required electrical connections. All new evaporator and condenser motors shall be ECM or equal unless otherwise stated. Motors must be installed securely and properly in accordance with NEC. (14) Start up and check operation as follows: (a) All HVAC units shall be started up in accordance with all manufacturer's recommendations. (b) When the equipment is operating, there shall be no excessive noise and vibration.
