The Pennsylvania State University intends to complete a small addition and partial interior renovation at the NARCO Building located at 3127 Research Drive, a short distance from the University Park Campus. The construction of the START+ Lab aims to support research in reducing CO2 emissions from aviation by testing advanced turbine cycles and colling technologies. We anticipate that the lab will occupy 12,000 - 15,000 GSF, and the selected D-B team will be responsible for working with the research team and PSU to determine the "best fit" location. Bid Package 1 consists of the construction of a 15,000 sf prefab metal building addition along with all associated MEP equipment. Bid Package 2 consists of the extension of the power system to the site location and construction of a new substation. As of August 6, 2025, construction is underway and expected to be complete in March 2026.
