This Contract provides for the demolition of existing historic building roofing and installation of new roofing on the Grant House and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. The proposed project is the reroofing of the U.S. Grant House, built in 1849 and the oldest building in the Officers Row Historic District (listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 as Officers Row, Fort Vancouver Barracks/Veterans Administration Hospital Quarters) in the Vancouver National Historic Reserve. The contract work is expected to begin in Spring 2023 and shall be fully complete no later than June 20, 2023. The City of Vancouver in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252,42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
