For Plum and Franklin Fire Station HVAC Project SITE LOCATION A. Spring & McKnight Firehouse, 614 Franklin St, Reading, PA 19602 A. Design Goals and Objectives: The project intent is to provide replace the HVAC systems in like kind and upgrade the indoor air quality of the facility with the use of bi-polar ionization (BPI) technology. B. Without intending to limit or restrict extent of work required under Contract, Work to be performed by the Contractor includes, but is not limited to the following. 1. Remove and replace one (1) split system direct expansion (DX) cooling, hot water heater air handling unit, refrigerant piping, and condensing unit. 2. Remove and replace twelve (12) hot water unit heaters. 3. Remove and replace two (2) unit ventilators with hot water heating coils and DX cooling coils. 4. Remove and replace three (3) ceiling-mounted fan-coil units with hot water heating coils and DX cooling coils. 5. Remove and replace hydronic convector and baseboard heater valves and controls.. 6. Remove and replace exhaust fans and controls. 7. Provide BPI units inside of air-moving equipment and standalone in certain areas. 8. Clean all existing ductwork to be reused. 9. Procure testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) subcontractor. Provide airside and waterside TAB of all HVAC systems. 10. Commission all new mechanical equipment. 11. Disconnect and reconnect existing electrical circuits and provide new electrical circuits as needed to support HVAC Equipment. 12. Procure testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) subcontractor. Provide airside and waterside TAB of all HVAC systems. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE: 2/21/2023 12:00 AM Each proposal shall be accompanied by bid surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal. A certified check or bid bond will be accepted. Attention is called to the fact that Pennsylvania prevailing wage rates must be paid by the contractor and that employees shall not be discriminated against because of race, color, age, religion, sex or national origin. The City of Reading reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept or reject any part of a bid, as may be in the public interest.
