Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Nockamixon Township, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Work incl under this contract consists of all site work to suit project prep, execution, and completion. This includes demo of existing structure Canal Ln over Delaware Canal (#450-4300). It will be replaced with a prestressed concrete box beam structure. Also included is demo of existing superstructure Canal Rd (North) (#450-5371). It will be replaced with a prestressed concrete box beam superstructure. Also included is demo of existing structure Tebola Beans over Delaware Canal (#450-1732). It will be replaced with a prestressed concrete box beam structure. Also included is demo of existing superstructure Buckstone David Library over Delaware Canal (#450-1912). It will be replaced with a steel plate girder superstructure. Replacement @ each structure will also include paving of the approach roadway and assoc timber guiderail. Engineer's Est Over $1 Million Bidders for this project shall as of the bid opening date, be listed as PennDOT prequal as Prequalified as Prime Cat. S1 complete the work within Five Hundred Forty-Eight (548) calendar days The existing bridge consists of a single span non-composite prestressed concrete adjacent box beam superstructure supported by gravity concrete abutments. The existing superstructure is composed of four (4) 36x21 adjacent box beams with bituminous wearing surface, concrete curbs, and timber faux (non-structural) decorative trusses along each side. The entire structure will be replaced with a new single span composite prestressed concrete adjacent box beam superstructure supported by reinforced concrete cantilever abutments founded on soil. The proposed superstructure consists of three (3) 48x21 composite prestressed concrete adjacent box beams, cast-in-place reinforced concrete deck, cast-in-place reinforced concrete curbs with painted Type 10M Barrier, and painted Faux Timber Trusses. Milling and overlaying of approximately 21 feet of bituminous roadway at west approach and approximately 15 feet of bituminous roadway at east approach. . Painting line striping and installing pavement markers to delineate pedestrian walkway. . Reconstruction of the stone masonry wingwall at the northwest corner of the bridge. . Repointing of existing stone masonry abutments and wingwalls, as required. . Construction of timber stairs at each side of the bridge at the tow path. . Repair of any disturbed or damaged areas of the clay lined canal bed within the limits of construction. . Repair of any disturbed or damaged areas of the tow path within the limits of construction. . Repair of any disturbed or damaged areas with the crane staging area.
