The Port of Port Townsend is requesting a Statement of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified engineering firms interested in providing engineering services for the partial replacement of the Main Breakwater at Boat Haven Marina. Boat Haven Marina is protected with a 1,325' rubble mound breakwater constructed and maintained by the USACE. The easternmost 550' is a sand filled coffer dam structure, armoured in stone, that is owned by the Port. This project will design the replacement of that structure to current code and standard, including the tie in to the existing USACE authorized structure. The engineering firm retained for this project will be expected to: Assess the existing breakwater. Prepare recommendations for rehabilitation, repair and/or replacement of that structure. Coordinate with the USACE on the design of the project, particularly as it relates to the tie in to the USACE authorized structure. Prepare final design and contract documents for solicitation of competitive bids for construction. Other services may include bid support and construction support. The Port of Port Townsend reserves the right to retain the selected firm at the Port's sole discretion. The Port anticipates but has not yet secured future federal funding to support the final design and construction phase of this project.
