Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Edison, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the construction of a stadium; for site work for a 29,933-square-foot stadium; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; pre-engineered storage facility; pre-engineered storage facility; and water / sewer project.

Edison Township Sports Building The purpose of this contract is to remove the existing buildings and trailers located at Edison Jets Field (370 Central Avenue) and to construct the new Edison Township Sports Building, inclusive of the associated, Architectural, Structural, M.E.P., and Site Work. The building structure is composed of the central steel portal frame Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) and the surrounding 1- to 2-story podium structure that is framed out of steel columns, steel beams, and composite metal deck slabs. The PEMB and podium structures are considered structurally independent structures and separated with an expansion joint above grade. Both structures are supported on concrete shallow foundations. The HVAC system includes a highly efficient dedicated system for the sports area suitable for high occupancy rates, and traditional package systems for the office and storage areas. Heating is to be provided by an air source heat pump with a supplemental hot water heater sized to match the losses through the walls and ceilings. The electrical system includes a new dedicated transformer for the site, and an emergency generator. New connections to the water and sewer utilities are provided to support the building's plumbing needs. Additionally, the building will be equipped with a fire alarm and a sprinkler system. Site improvements for construction of the new Edison Sports Building include, but are not limited to, the demolition of the existing building structures, importation of clean fill and site grading, construction of concrete sidewalk and H.M.A walkways, drainage improvements, relocating existing water distribution and sanitary sewer systems, site lighting, retaining walls, parking lot improvements, and associated site restoration work as directed by the Township. All work shall be constructed in accordance to the project plans and specifications. Project is to be completed in 460 days after contract award and receipt of the notice to proceed Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.
