Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Peoria, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The proposed improvements consist of the resurfacing of Gale Avenue from east of University Street to west of Sheridan Road for a distance of approximately 0.57 miles. Proposed improvements include: pavement resurfacing, ADA sidewalk ramps, concrete island replacement, pavement marking, and appurtenant work. All provisions regarding EEO, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and DBE and WBE requirements shall be strictly enforced. All work shall comply with the project specifications and all state and federal laws and regulations Before plans and specifications may be obtained, contractors must be pre-qualified. All proposals must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier's check, or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Within 24 hours after the letting, the two low bidders must file an "Affidavit of Availability" Form BC 57 in triplicate. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond for the full amount of the contract, with sureties, to be approved by the City Engineer. Compliance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act is required under this contract. The City of Peoria reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals.
