This project consists of installing 4 inch, 6 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch, and 12 inch ductile iron water main, hydrants, valves, and appurtenances as shown on the detailed contract drawings and includes reconnecting water services, renewing water services, and disconnecting water services. The Contractor will be required to replace existing house lines from the curb box to the house, into the house, and tie into the existing service meter. The Contractor shall complete all permanent surface restoration. Ductile iron water main, hydrants, valves, fittings, copper tubing, water service fittings, and appurtenances shall be provided by the City of Akron and are marked as "Install Only" in the Engineer's Estimate. Plans are in accordance with the City of Akron, Construction and Material Specifications, 2008 Edition and with the City's standard construction drawings, unless otherwise noted in the plans or the bid book. Hard copies of these specifications and drawings may be purchased at SE Blueprint as listed above. Purchases are not refundable. These documents are also available at no charge on the City of Akron website Engineer's Estimate: $3,118,956. Disadvantaged Business (DBE) participation goals (subcontracts, materials, supplies) have been set on this Project for those certified as DBE's in accordance with a federal agency such as the Small Business Administration or the Department of Transportation or by an approved State of Ohio agency.
