Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Davenport, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The proposed work includes all labor, materials, tools, supplies, utility and transportation services, equipment and all incidentals necessary for the Central Park Ave Reconstruction (Brady to Pershing) and Farnam St Intersection Overlay Contractors and subcontractors on this project will undergo a standardized evaluation upon completion of the work. The results of this evaluation may influence the determination of the contractor's eligibility to bid on future projects as governed by the purchasing policies and city code of the City of Davenport. Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $1,000 per day. Manufacturer's written warranties and guarantees shall also be required from the awarded bidder. Potential prime contractors are encouraged to contact DBE sub-contractors. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the "Response Attachments" tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. Working Days - It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded on the22 nd of March and executed shortly thereafter. The Notice to Proceed will be issued as soon as the contract is executed by the City. The specified start date set by the Notice toProceed will be approximately two weeks from the date of the Notice. The contractor shall begin construction on or before the date specified and complete allwork for the Intersection Overlay, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment within 20 working days and the Road Reconstruction, , including final cleanup and removal of all equipment within 40 working days. Bidders must include with the bid submittal a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Vehicle insurance coverages. The limits of the policies shall be as specified in the "General Contract Conditions", which may be obtained from the City's website The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so. Attention is called to the fact that the contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, national origin or ancestry, sexual orientation, age, marital status, familial status, physical or mental disabilities or political beliefs and affiliations The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for a HMA overlay, including but not limited to: milling of existing pavement, HMA overlay, construction survey, staking, PCC curb, PCC ADA ramps and sidewalk, utility adjustments, backfill, and seeding. The quantities herein represent the Engineer's estimate of the amount of work to be completed. Actual as-built quantities may vary from bid quantities. The Contractor shall be responsible for all survey and construction staking including subgrade, subbase, pavement, and sidewalk.
