PURPOSE:
The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT"), an agency of the Commonwealth of
Virginia, is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide Highway Lighting Maintenance Services on an as needed
time and material basis for the Bristol District Interstates I-381, I-81, and I-77 in Washington, Smyth, Wythe, and
Bland Counties, in accordance with the specifications contained herein.
PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The contract will be for a period of one year, with the start date to be determined at
time of award (renewable). QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS INVITATION FOR BID
Any questions regarding this Invitation for Bids shall be addressed to Chelsa Taylor,
chelsa.taylor@vdot.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a
result of questions or other matters raised. Provide questions by close of business five (5) days prior to the bid due
date.
SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials,
incidentals necessary, and traffic control to perform Highway Lighting Maintenance and Sign Maintenance
Services. Service will include, but not be limited to: conventional roadway lighting, underpass lighting,
overhead sign lighting, high mast roadway lighting locates, and various sign repair/maintenance to ensure
all lights and signs are working per original specifications. The Contractor shall also provide lane closures
as necessary.
WORK LOCATIONS: The work shall be performed as directed within the VDOT's Bristol District
Interstate areas which are listed below:
I-381 - Commonwealth Ave City Limit to I-81
I-81 - Tennessee Line - Pulaski County Line (mile marker 87.3)
I-77 mile marker 24.2 (Carrol County Line) - West Virginia Line
