All work shall be in accordance with the specifications now available on AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net or on file in the Purchasing office of Ames, Iowa, which, by this reference are made a part hereof, as though fully set out and incorporated herein. Said questions are to be submitted in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net. The preferred method is to submit bids in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net in the format required, included with these bid documents with all prices and requested data properly filled in, prior to the time and date bids are due. If technical issues occur while submitting the bid, contact the Purchasing Manager for the bid and determine an alternate method to receive the bid. Failure to submit the required information may deem the bid non-responsive. The bid shall include acknowledgement of receipt of all addenda. Addenda numbers shall be filled in the bid response. The general nature of the work consists of resurface (4) tennis courts located at Inis Grove Park, 2500 Duff Avenue, Ames, IA and repaint pickleball lines on all (4) courts located at Brookside Park, 1325 6th Street, Ames, IA. All work indicated in the requirements/specifications. Work to be complete no later than September 30, 2023. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. If the accepted bid is over $25,000, the selected Contractor will be required to provide a performance and payment bond equal to the total bid amount. Contractor will include the cost of the performance and payment bond in the bid. Each successful bidder shall be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100 percent of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City's Risk Manager and shall guarantee faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee prompt payment of material and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the work in good repair for a period of one (1) year from and after the completion and acceptance by the City. The contractor shall not include sales or use taxes in the bid. Pursuant to Iowa Code and Iowa Administrative Code, the contractor will be authorized to purchase building materials that will be incorporated into real property on this project tax-free. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City. NIS GROVE PARK: 1. Remove all (8) tennis net post footings and install new footings with sleeves and posts at 2500 Duff Avenue, Ames, IA. City will provide nets posts and sleeves. Work shall be completed according to Tennis Post Installation specifications (ATTACHMENT C). 2. Clean and prepare all cracks and expansion joints on fourtennis courtsto "Armor Crack Repair System Specifications". Approximate crack locations are referenced on map included 3. Install "Armor Crack Repair System" to all cracks and expansion joints on all four courts including seams surrounding net posts (ATTACHMENT D). 4. Identify birdbaths and spalling areas on four courts and repair with tennis court patch binder. 5. Clean and prepare surface for color coating. 6. Install one coat of acrylic resurfacer to all four courts. 7. Install two coats of DecoSystems Color (California Sport Surfaces) or Nova Sports Surface products, or an approved equal: a. In bounds - US Open Blue b. Out of bounds - Dark Green c. Tennis and Pickleball Court Striping - White. *Match color with existing tennis courts at Emma McCarthy Lee Park, 3500 Ross Rd, Ames, IA. *Product Specifications for approved equals must be submitted with bid BROOKSIDE PARK: 1.
