Crimson Commons Housing Stair Refurbishment Pittsburg State University is seeking quotations to supply labor, material, and equipment to repair and paint the exterior stairwells at the Crimson Commons Residence Hall, 1315 South Joplin St., Pittsburg, Ks 66762 Buildings A, B, C, D, and E. Work Start Date Work shall not begin prior to May 15, 2023 Work Completion Date Work must be completed prior to August 9, 2023 10. Pittsburg State University is seeking quotations to supply labor, material, and equipment to repair and paint the exterior stairwells at the Crimson Commons Residence Hall, 1315 South Joplin St., Pittsburg, Ks 66762 - Buildings A, B, C, D, and E. Scope of Work Work will include, but may not be limited to: 1. Remove all composite decking at landings and stair treads. A. Save composite for re-installation. B. Decking is fastened from underneath. (See Attachment 1 for pictures) C. Some composite decking may need replaced. Proposals must include the contractor's recommendation for the amount of decking to be replaced and a price per square foot for replacement composite decking. 2. Prep metal framing, handrails, step risers and all associated structure for primer and paint. 3. Add steel framing at all landings to achieve no greater span than 16". A. Some existing steel may need to be replaced due to excessive rust. 4. Prime all metal with specified primer or equivalent. A. Primer specifications available in Attachment 2. 5. Paint topcoat with specified paint or equivalent. A. Match with existing colors. B. Paint specifications available in Attachment 2. 6. Refasten all composite decking on landings and stair treads. A. Replace damaged composite decking pieces as needed. B. Use stainless steel fasteners at length and diameter specified by manufacturer's recommendations. 7. Contractor is responsible for all clean-up and debris removal during and after the project. A. Contractor must be mindful of residents and keep open stairwells free and clear of debris and equipment or tools to allow for safe passage. *In the above "Scope of Work", PSU made all reasonable efforts to compile a comprehensive summary of the required work. However, it is possible that aspects of the project have not been listed. Contractors are responsible for performing a pre bid site visit to gather the information required to submit a full and accurate proposal.
