Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Matane, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the construction of a warehouse / distribution facility; and warehouse / distribution facility.
Matane port facilities redevelopment project. The redevelopment will include, at a minimum, the construction of a new berth, the development of new storage areas, the demolition and reconstruction of the existing commercial wharf, the demolition of the service tunnel, the complete repair of the pavements, including sewers, aqueduct, electricity and lighting, the relocation of the harbor master's office and the gatehouse, the raising of the riprap and other related work. TIMELINE: The study to select the best technical solution and the impact study is ongoing and expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Environmental Assessment report will be submitted for approvals. The current comment period, which ends on December 10, 2025, Indigenous Peoples and the public are invited to review the summary of the Initial Project Description and provide comments. Request for proposals for design services will be issued (in 2026) once funding is available. Construction is expected to start in early 2028 and complete in 2033. Further update in summer/fall, 2026. The global project value is estimated at $200,000,000.
