Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Matane, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the construction of a warehouse / distribution facility; and warehouse / distribution facility.
Matane port facilities redevelopment project. The redevelopment will include, at a minimum, the construction of a new berth, the development of new storage areas, the demolition and reconstruction of the existing commercial wharf, the demolition of the service tunnel, the complete repair of the pavements, including sewers, aqueduct, electricity and lighting, the relocation of the harbor master's office and the gatehouse, the raising of the riprap and other related work. TIMELINE: Environmental Assessment report was submitted for approvals. The assessment has been completed by the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC). The federal impact assessment process is now complete. As a next step, the owner are required to seek necessary federal and provincial authorizations and permits for the project. Request for proposals for design services will be issued (in 2026) once funding is available. Construction is expected to start in early 2028 and complete in 2033. Further update in summer/fall, 2026. The global project value is estimated at $200,000,000.
