As of April 11, 2023, project is on hold. No definite date for the rebid. The Spearfish School Board Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Proposals, to Waive Any Informality in the Proposals Received and to Accept the Proposal That is to the Advantage of and in the Best Interest of the School District. The Project consists of the alteration of the high school and middle school boys and girls locker rooms and the demolition of the associated site elements indicated on the construction documents. The project is broken down into two separate scopes of work in two separate locations in the building. Bidders are being asked to bid each scope of work separately and combined. The lowest combination bidder for both projects or the lowest combination of two separate bidders will be selected depending on which scenario results in the lowest bid price. It is also possible that one project is accepted and the other isn't depending on the schools budget. Project construction may start in intervals as indicated in the bid documents and specifications with initial demolition in the high school locker rooms to begin as soon as March 27th. Bid award is expected on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Spearfish School Board Meeting however all bids shall be held firm for thirty days after the bid opening. Project completion will be in phases as follows: o High School Boys Locker Room Substantial Completion: July 28, 2023 o Chemistry Renovation/Substantial Completion: August 11, 2023 o High School Girls Locker Room Substantial Completion: August 15, 2023 o Middle School Girls and Boys Locker Room Substantial Completion: August 18th, 2023 o Chemistry and Locker Room HVAC/Rooftop Equipment Substantial Completion: December 29, 2023 Project construction for the Chemistry Room involves a complete renovation of the existing chemistry classroom along with some minor renovation work in the two adjoining classrooms and storage/work rooms. The project also includes a new rooftop mechanical unit. Major project components include: Concrete cutting, cast in place concrete, demolition, cold-formed metal framing, rough carpentry, architectural wood casework, single ply roofing cut and patch, joint sealers, gypsum board assemblies, resilient flooring, interior painting, acoustical ceilings, marker boards, plumbing, gas piping, electrical, and HVAC. Project construction for the locker rooms involves a complete renovation of the existing high school locker rooms, coach's rooms and training room and a partial renovation of the existing middle school locker rooms and coaches' rooms. This project also includes new rooftop mounted mechanical equipment. Major project components include: Demolition, concrete cutting, cast in place concrete, unit masonry, cold-formed metal framing, metal fabrications, rough carpentry, architectural wood casework, fiberglass reinforced paneling, thermal insulation, thermoplastic membrane roofing, sheet metal flashing / trim, joint sealants, hollow metal frames, clad wood doors, access doors, gypsum board assemblies, tiling, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, tile carpeting, interior painting, visual display units, plastic toilet compartments, toilet / bath accessories, metal lockers, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
