Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Combined Locks, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The work consists of reconstructing State Street (Park Street to Ryan Street) and Janssen Street, as well as some minor restoration along Wallace Street. The work generally includes preparing the existing base course, new concrete streets (currently asphalt), curb and gutter (integral & standard), driveway aprons, sidewalks, utility adjustments, guard rail, pavement markings and associated grass restoration. The project also includes the reconstruction (cast-in-place) of an existing bridge deck and sidewalk (approx. 47'x41') over Garners Creek, including new concrete pavement approach slabs. The existing bridge abutments are not planned to be replaced or reconstructed as part of the project. State Street experiences significant semi-truck traffic coming to and from the McKinley Paper Mill (540 Prospect Street), which has 10 driveway access points located within the project limits. In order to maintain access and operations for the Mill, the project is planned to be constructed in three (3) general phases as described in the plans and special provisions. Fox Valley & Lake Superior (FOXY) / WATCO owns railroad right-of-way within the project limits and will require coordination, permitting and flagging. The project includes approximately 6,620 square yards of 9-inch doweled concrete street pavement (integral curb), 7,790 square yards of 9-inch doweled high early concrete street pavement (integral curb), 1,700 square yards of 7-inch concrete pavement (integral curb), 410 square yards of HMA pavement, 340 linear feet of standard concrete curb and gutter, 5,310 square feet of concrete driveway aprons, 970 square yards of HMA driveway restoration and 13,230 square feet of concrete sidewalks. An Alternate Bid is included to reconstruct the bridge deck and sidewalk with pre-cast planks and a concrete pavement overlay. A Supplemental Bid is included to re-seal the Mill's employee parking lot, including new pavement markings. C0006 9-21-00351
