A shortlist of general contractors have been invited to bid on this project, the identity of those contractors has not been released. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, supplies, supervision, and perform all work necessary for the installation of two concrete box culverts and incidental construction as specified herein. Construction shall be performed at the Long Cane Ranger District on the Sumter National Forest in accordance with plans and the Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects (FP14), and with the Forest Service Supplemental Specifications. The project site is located on the Sumter National Forest, McCormick County, SC, as indicated on the plans. Period of Performance - The POP shall be 120 days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) Protection of Adjacent Area - The Contractor is responsible for protecting from damage all adjacent areas and existing improvements around or near the project sites. Equipment shall not be operated in the stream channel when and if there is live flow. The contractor shall be permitted one stream crossing to move necessary equipment to the opposite side of the culvert replacement. Erosion control fencing shall be used to protect the stream channel from sedimentation. All damage to areas caused by the contractors construction activities or equipment shall be immediately reported to the Contracting Officers Representative (COR). The contractor shall be responsible for repairing all damaged areas A proposed schedule of work for the project construction shall be prepared by the Contractor and submitted to the COR within 14 days of the NTP. Contractor shall provide the manufacturers shop drawings and/or invoice indicating the correct dimensions, material, and gaugeand shall submit 1 hard copy or 1 digital copy to the COR for approval.
